Rain!

I haven’t seen the clouds so far down the mountain in ages. It’s like the sky decided it was tired of living so high up, so it came down to pay us a visit.

Looking over to town when I was leaving Sub Base today, I could see that the whole island was being swallowed by cloud. Hmmm, with Carnival Village opening tonight, and all the rain causing floods, maybe I should take the mountain route to go pick up the cat from the vet.

Since I was on the Northside, I thought it couldn't hurt to stop at Drake's Seat to take a picture. It looks like even Hans Lollik is about to get cloud-kissed.

And Mahogany Run is just as gray. Geez. It looks like we lost the BVI to the cloud monsters. Oh well, that's what they get for hanging all those people.

This is looking back to where I just drove from. St. Peter mountain felt like a rainforest. Well, I guess today it was.

I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but the cloud cover was even reaching down to Drake's Seat.

So I basically went up Scott Free, through St. Peter mountain, around through Donoe, to go down Raphune. I circumvented town completely. So here, coming down Raphune you can see where I started from way off in the distance.
Look how much water is collecting. Long Bay is all landfill, though, and that's what happens. I wish I could have taken pictures of all the crazy puddles that formed and all the spontaneous waterfalls. I few more days of this and I don't think there'll be a brown leaf left on the whole of St. Thomas.

They’re saying it will be like this all through Carnival. I hope it clears up, not because I was planning to go, but because so many people work so much to get ready and really look forward to it.
