This evening we picked up dinner at the Texas Pit BBQ. Like many of the best places to eat on the island, it is on wheels. It spends the day parked by this ramshackle building before they roll it into town at night.
That's my Mom ordering dinner. Our ride is to the right. In case you are wondering what is inside the ramshackle building, take a look.
I'm not sure what it used to be or why somebody doesn't fix it up. I find myself using the word ramshackle a lot more down here than I ever do in Boston. But the building isn't completely abandoned. I'm pretty sure the old guy with dreadlocks mumbling to himself on the corner lives in this building. And look who else lives in there.
Before you think Texas Pit BBQ is just catching chickens in the street, let me assure you that our dinner was much too juicy to have come off such a scraggly chicken. Then again, maybe chickens like this are all that is left.
